Dell Computer Corp. displayed a new floor-standing 90-MHz Pentium system at Comdex in Atlanta last week that should start shipping within the next few weeks, company officials said.
The Pentium-based Dimension XPS tower PC will cost $2,599, officials added.
The system will ship with 8MB of RAM, a 340MB hard drive, and extensive expansion capabilities, with seven expansion slots and support for five drive bays.
Like its desk-bound system -- also named the Dimension XPS 90 -- the tower system uses enhanced IDE and the Intel Neptune Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) chip set for PCI functions.
