Taipei, Oct. 30, 2006 (CENS)--Taiwan's three money supply indicators-M1A, M1B, and M2- witnessed an annual growth of 4.8%, 4.72%, and 5.84%, respectively, in September, all higher than posted one month earlier, according to the statistics released by Taiwan's Central Bank of China (CBC)

CBC officials attributed the rising annual growth to the increased trading value of the local bourse. In September, foreign investors posted an over-buying position of NT$78.7 billion (US$2.39 billion at US$1 = NT$33) at the Taiwan Stock Exchange, helping boost the annual growth of M1b by1.9 percentage points from a month earlier.
