The 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army has recently recovered high-powered firearms and explosives after a military operation against communist rebels in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.

In a wired letter of commendation, Army Chief Lieutenant General Romeo P. Tolentino said that the troops led by First Lieutenant Wilfredo Dalisay of the 23rd Infantry Battalion seized two M-16 Armalite rifles, fragmentation grenade, one bandolier with magazines and ammunitions and a jungle pack full of communist documents from the insurgents in one of its military operations on Friday. …
