The principal strengths of Class Struggles in Zambia and the Fall of Kenneth Kaunda lie in the fact that the book is clearly well-researched, and in the way in which he links a number of themes together to explain recent Zambian history. Hamalengwa carefully details the history of the labor movement in Zambia, providing us with an analytical base from which to understand his argument, and an historical base from which to understand change in Zambia.
