The text being reviewed is published by the Africa Policy Center, a policy-oriented unit affiliated with the Washington Office on Africa. The Center seeks to identify critical issues in US-Africa relations and to assemble and disseminate information about Africa to interested policy audiences. This publication, issued in accordance with that commitment, is composed of six chapters plus a collection of position papers and selected policy documents.
The policy documents reprinted in the volume emanate from several sources.
