Federal Express Corp.'s regional hub at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth is worthy of the description.
In 1993 the freight and package carrier bought 158 acres at the airport with plans to spend between $200 million and $300 million on a regional hub. Construction of the facility will start this summer, when hundreds of people will be needed to build the facility. Once it opens in 1997, the hub will employ 600.
