The Pearl of Africa Music awards have drawn a lot of flak in the run up to tomorrow's gala event. Much of the ire has come from artistes and some have brazenly told the awards committee to seek their consent first before including them on the nominee catalogue.

Others have ranted about the nomination process, want veteran artistes to be separated from the up-and-comers and a veteran artiste suggested instrumentalists be rewarded as well. Pam Awards chairman Isaac Mulindwa took these critics on last week calling the criticism crap. Strong words coming from the dapper fellow who also had to beat off a tabloid report early this week that said the winners list had been leaked.
