An unidentified man from West Bloomfield, Michigan, gave his new pacemaker an unintended stress test shortly after he had it implanted when several men accosted him.
According to hometownlife.com, the man, who owns a bar, got home from work at 3:00 a.m., and an intruder who was armed with a shotgun confronted him in his garage. With one arm in a sling as a result of getting the pacemaker installed, the man considered his options and decided to fight back. He swatted away the barrel of the shotgun, barely escaping instant death as it discharged over his shoulder, and then he pulled his pistol and fired at the robber, striking him.
