Taipei, Oct. 26, 2006 (CENS)--Inventec Corporation, one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of notebook personal computers, achieved an unexpectedly high earnings per share at NT$1.79 (US$0.054 at US$1:NT$33) for the third quarter of this year, outperforming rival Compal Electronics Corp. for the first time ever

Inventec vice president H.C. Hsu said his company would post 15% to 20% annual growth in shipments and sales in the fourth quarter. He believed Compal would beat out the average sales growth for the world market next year
