When he's walking around Ayala Center in Makati City, Security Bank Corp.'s First Vice-President and Trust Officer Wilfredo S. Talastas is often stopped with the familiar and dreaded statement: "Sir, I was your student 10 years ago."

"It makes me feel old," laughed Mr. Talastas, who, by his count, has had around 700 trust practitioners as students at the Trust Institute Foundation of the Philippines (TIFP) and close to a thousand more in the Treasury Certification Program (TCP) of the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) and Ateneo de Manila University.
