Real hard times.(David Potts Great Depression )
DAVID POTTS has presented us with a significant and most readable book on the Great Depression (The Myth of the Great Depression, Scribe). Of course, the Depression is not a myth, but the overall story as to what actually happened, and to whom, and the conclusions that many historians have drawn therefrom, have added up to a coherent but systematically misleading version of past realities, but an account so forcibly deployed as to have gone virtually unchallenged.
