Credit card firms and retailers are set to discuss the possibility of lowering surcharges in the light of a Trade department prohibiting the passing on of extra fees to customers.

Department Administrative Order 10, which reminds retailers to use only one tag price and prohibits them from charging additional fees for credit card transactions, was signed by Trade Secretary Peter B. Favila last October 18.
