Oct. 25--SANFORD -- Public schools in Seminole County would start three weeks later next year under a proposed calendar likely to be approved by the School Board. Classes would begin Aug. 20 and end June 6 under the plan recommended Monday by a district committee. The first semester would not end until mid-January, but the district would keep its treasured fall break -- pushed back to Thanksgiving week instead of early October. The School Board is expected to adopt the calendar next month. No one is totally satisfied with it, those who developed the plan said.
