Oct. 25--Students and parents spread pine needles and raked leaves at McClintock Middle School. About two dozen people built three potting tables at University Adult Care. Another group of volunteers sorted through donated clothes at Crisis Assistance Ministry. They were part of a group of more than 600 people who donated a big part of Saturday to the 14th annual Hands on Charlotte Day, a volunteer community service project at more than a dozen sites across the county.
