The University of California at Berkeley is creating a new job: Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion. Chancellor Robert Birgeneau said the goal is not only to recruit minorities as to ensure that students, faculty and staff are "fully respected for their individuality and what they represent."
The post comes with a generous salary of $182,000 to $282,000 annually and an office budget of more than $4 million. Officials note that they are not actually adding another top-level paying job, but creating the post by combining two other vice chancellor ...
