MILAN (AFX) - Compagnie Industriali Riunite SpA's energy unit Sorgenia SpA said its nine-month results were boosted by stronger sales of electricity, including from additional production.

Net profit rose 90 pct to 47.9 mln eur, from the first nine months of 2005, EBITDA profit was up 117 pct to 96.5 mln, and sales rose 56 pct to 1.327 bln, Sorgenia said.

"The (EBITDA) result has been positively influenced by sales of electricity produced by the Termoli power station, even though it is still not fully in commercial service," it said.
