THREE-TIME Uganda Amateur Golf Open winner Stephen Birungi faces a formidable new generation of contenders.
Birungi(h/c+2) will be up against on-form George Olayo (h/c+1), Amos Kamya (h/c 0), Shaban Lwanga (h/c 1) and Rwandan Emmanuel Ruterana (h/c+2).
The Ugandan ace was in high spirits after a new driver offered by Rajiv Sudhir improved on his shots in yesterday's practice round. He down played the threat posed by Ruterana.
"Ruterana can't beat us on our home course. Even if my form deserted me the other Ugandan players wouldn't let it happen," Birungi swore.
