One of the greatest challenges the Government faces is restoration of growth in incomes of the poor.

"Over the past two decades, Uganda has achieved an average per capita income growth of 3.5%, which is remarkable by world standards.

However, the recent slower growth and rising inequality raise concern that there are persistent obstacles to reducing poverty," the bank's country manager, Grace Yabrudy, said.
