Anambra House Serves Obi Impeachment Notice.

AWKA-- ANAMBRA State House of Assembly said yesterday it had served Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, impeachment notice. But Obi in a swift reaction denied receiving any impeachment notice.

The notice is coming after series of denials and attacks on journalists who reported the impeachment plot by the House. The House had summoned Vanguard and Daily Independent reporters who reported the impeachment plot.

Scores of residents of Awka stormed the Assembly premises yesterday to protest moves to impeach the governor. They later moved to Government House where they pledged their support for Governor Obi.

Also, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Anambra State Chapter in a reaction condemned the action of the House and held a solidarity rally in front of the governor's office. Traders and students also stormed the Government House to show solidarity.

As early as 7a.m, anti-riot policemen took positions in and around the premises of the State House of Assembly …
