THE UPDF on Tuesday killed two local administration police deserters in Nakapiripirit district.

This was during an operation in which 14 guns were recovered near Namalu trading centre.

The district UPDF sector commander, Lt. Col. Hassan Kimbowa, said the two were killed when they opened fire at soldiers who were on a cordon-and-search operation.

"Our forces were moving towards Kokuam village in the morning when the warriors, who had hid on the slopes of the mountain, opened fire at them. The army returned fire, killing them instantly," Kimbowa said.
