I have a dream I have a dream I have a dream!! Most older folks can easily remember and relate to these immortal words that were etched into the annals of American history by Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr. forty years ago, precisely 28th August 1963. It was indeed a defining moment in American history. And such powerful dream Dr. King had, as its reverberations continue to transform the lives of a countless number of African-Americans and blacks all over the world into some of the most successful and influential people in the world today. Yes, and it all started with one dream, from one man.
Here in Ghana, we can also relate quite well with the great dream of our first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah when he declared, "the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked with the total liberation of the African continent". Just listen to the unselfish tone of Dr. Nkrumah's voice that night. The euphoria of Ghana's independence had barely died down, yet this man was already dreaming of the liberation of other tens of millions throughout the continent!! This was indeed an amazing man.
