Oct. 17--Bailey Middle School and J.V. Washam Elementary in Cornelius were locked down for about two hours Monday morning as a precaution while police searched the area for armed robbers. An officer had chased the men to Cornelius after they robbed the Rugged Wearhouse clothing store on Norman Station Boulevard in Mooresville, said Mooresville police Lt. Phil Blocker. Police from Mooresville and Charlotte-Mecklenburg searched for two men in a gold Taurus along Bailey Road between U.S. 21 and N.C. 115 for about two hours, but didn't find them, said Cornelius Maj.
