Laos: Laos continues anti-drug fight.

Section: Regional News - The Lao Party and Government have always paid due attention to anti-drug battle and the country's endeavour to eliminate this poison has made substantial achievements, said Lao Prime Minister Buasone Bouphavanh at the 5th anniversary of the National Anti-Drug Day on Oct. 12.

The country has successfully phased out poppy cultivation activities nationwide since the 7th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, PM Bouphavanh said, adding that the number of drug users have been slashed to around 10,000 from 60,000 since then.
