Oct. 16--State Rep. Ed Orcutt has moved up fast in the Republican Party hierarchy in Olympia. Appointed and then elected to represent the 18th District in 2002, Orcutt now serves as ranking Republican on the House Finance Committee and is a member of the Economic and Revenue Forecast Council, which issues quarterly reviews of the state's economic health and projections of future state revenue. A forester by profession, Orcutt also serves on the House Natural Resources, Ecology and Parks Committee. Orcutt is a stalwart supporter of his party's fiscally conservative principles.
