DEPOSED PRESIDENT JOSEPH ESTRADA petitioned the court yesterday to compel Manila Mayor Lito Atienza to allow his biopic to be shown in Plaza Miranda, a designated freedom park.

Former Immigration Commissioner Rufus Rodriguez, one of Estradas legal counsels, filed the petition for mandamus before the Manila Regional Trial Court.

Rodriguez said they were asking the court to direct Atienza to reverse his order banning the showing of Ang Mabuhay Para sa Masa. The lawyer claimed the order was a grave abuse of authority and violation of the constitutional guarantee of freedom of expression. …
