The 60th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Brunei with pomp and grandeur featuring Indian hospitality, friendliness and colourful cultural performances. Held last night at the International Convention Centre in Berakas, the celebration was organised by the Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA).
The chief guest at the function was the Acting Indian High Commissioner of India Mr M P Singh. Mr Singh in his speech said that in a foreign land, everyone is a representative of the country that they originate from.
