Indian and foreign private equity (PE) companies are investing heavily in the Indian real estate sector and have lined up large and medium-sized PE deals, cumulatively worth about Rs5,000 crore.

PE companies like GIC of Singapore, Black Stone, Starwood Capital, JP Morgan Stanley, Walton Steel Capital, AIG, HDFC Reality, IL&FS and Kotak Real Estate are in the process of tying up deals in companies like Peninsula Land, Mahindra Gesco, Unitech, Hiranandani Constructions, Lok Housing, Ansal Properties, K Raheja Corp and Anand Raj.

Hiranandani Constructions is planning to mobilise Rs300-400 crore.
