Irish nurses secure clinical resources online
Tracey Caldwell
Ireland's largest professional union of nurses and midwives has signed up for Ovid's evidence-based clinical information databases.
The Irish Nurses Organisation (INO) has 33,000 members, with more than 15,000 registered with the Nurse2Nurse portal, which will give access to ClinicalResource@Ovid. Nurses will be able to access the Ovid databases through the portal via ward, library and home PCs.
Most access is generally undertaken from home, according to Muriel Haire, librarian and Nurse2Nurse administrator at the INO library.
Owned and operated by the INO, Nurse2Nurse aims to foster information exchange, develop evidence-based nursing practices, and promote continuing education for nurses.
