Tearing down the library walls

The sixth Libraries Without Walls conference took place in September 2005. This book records the proceedings of that conference.
The conference series began a decade ago when delivering library services to remote users was a new idea. With the concept of the networked library having become mainstream, the sixth conference focused on the evidence base for the continued relevance of the library without walls.
The Centre for Research in Library and Information Management (CERLIM) organised the conference, which was held at Manchester Metropolitan University. Co-editor Peter Brophy introduces the conference coverage by providing a brief context and summarises the topics that were covered by the conference papers.
The keynote address introduces
