IRVING -- The finance director at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has quietly ended a 20-year career there and accepted temporary employment out-of-state.
Richard "Dick" Williams, who earned $106,000 a year and was among D/FW's longest-standing employees, surprised colleagues and observers recently by posting his resignation.
"I was shocked, quite frankly," said Bill Mahomes, a member of D/FW's board of directors.
Williams, 47, has agreed to work for $45 an hour as a consultant at Miami International Airport, where he has been turned down for the permanent job of finance director.
