IRVING--Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is working to better live up to the fourth word in its name and expand its local role in economic development. The airport is studying a marketing plan to tout itself as an international junction and to promote more international flight connections with the introduction of the North American Free Trade Agreement. The effort may include putting multilingual signs in the terminals and supporting airlines' efforts to gain international connections.

The marketing push may come in time to change the face of the airport itself when thousands of international visitors descend on the area for the World Cup Soccer tournament this …
