Oct. 4--The unused batteries, Vienna sausages and bottled water still stockpiled in the closet already clued in most Southeast Texans, but on Tuesday a team of leading forecasters scaled back their predictions for the current hurricane season.
An average year with a total of 11 named storms and six hurricanes are in the season's final forecast by the Tropical Meteorology Project at Colorado State University.
