Oct. 4--Growth in the eastern part of the county drove enrollment figures in Lincoln County schools over 12,000 students this year, and Superintendent Jim Watson already has 13,000 in his sights.
Watson said the district could reach that mark in the next three years as families are drawn to the county for its schools, lower tax rate and easy access to Charlotte.
"The growth that we're having is all over the county," Watson said, "but the higher growth is really occurring ... in three school districts."
