Southern Sudan President Salva Kiir persuaded the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army] to return to the negotiating table a day after they announced their exit.

The resumption followed separate meetings Kiir held with LRA and the government delegations on Thursday [28 September]. The two parties were scheduled to hold a session on Friday afternoon.
