THE benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) staged a re-challenge of its overhead resistance of 970 as advances beat declines by 329 to 317.

The KLCI rose from its intra-day low of 966.19 to its high of 970.79, closing at 968.88 yesterday, giving a day-on-day gain of 2.56 points, or 0.26 per cent.

Amtel Holdings Bhd staged a follow-through rebound yesterday as its daily price trend rose to close at RM1.45 yesterday, giving a day-on-day gain of 8 sen, or 7.77 per cent.
