A study from EPE, Brazil's federal energy research firm, showed that the country's supply of natural gas may surpass predicted demand of 128 M cu m/day to 152 M cu m/day in 2015. Existing demand is pegged at roughly 60 M cu m/day, covering about 40 M cu m/day for domestic, industrial, commercial and thermoelectric power generation and around 20 M cu m/day for federal energy company Petrobras' internal consumption.
