Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, opening an exhibition dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Babyn Yar (Babi Yar) tragedy in Kiev, warned against xenophobia and said that democracy prevents hatred. Israeli President Moshe Quatzav said that Babyn Yar is a symbol of the worst in people. More than 100,000 Jews and other people were killed by the Nazis in Babyn Yar, then outside Kiev, during World War II. The following is an excerpt from report by Interfax-Ukraine news agency:
