Operating as stand-alone device that generates 2 outputs or as 2-channel, multi-phase controller, Model TPS40140 synchronous, pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller turns power supplies into scalable, stackable power systems that can support up to 16 phases. Current-mode controller supports 2-40 V input voltage conversion range, enabling operation from 4.5-15 V power source. Line and load regulation of 0.1% is supported by [+ or -]0.5%, 0.7 V voltage reference and differential load sense amplifier.
