Cairo, 24 Sep: The higher council on energy, in its first meeting today after its convening headed by Prime Minister Ahmad Nazif, decided to seek non-traditional alternatives for energy, including nuclear energy as an urgent need, due to the inadequacy of traditional sources of energy in addition to nuclear energy now being safer and more economical.

The council also decided to form a mini ministerial committee that includes five ministers to set urgent guidelines on how to move towards the nuclear alternative and to study the technical and financial …
