Rape - DNA Evidence - 1991 Sample

A defendant who was arrested in Stafford County on rape charges in 2003, and whose DNA was obtained at that time, can be prosecuted for a 1991 rape in Fairfax County based on 2001 testing of a sperm sample obtained from an unsolved Fairfax County rape.

Ten years after the Fairfax County rape, after advancements in DNA technology, the investigating officer in that case requested a new test on the victim's PERK specimen.
