Sep. 16--Clear your desks and take out your freshly sharpened No. 2 pencils. The ISTEP+ standardized testing begins Monday and lasts through Sept. 29. The test, which covers English and mathematics, is designed to measure a student's understanding of the previous grade-level based on Indiana's academic standards. ISTEP+ is administered to pupils from grades three through 10 statewide. "Our teachers have been doing one-on-one tutoring for the last three weeks," said Brenda West, principal at Adams Elementary School. "Every night, every teacher has been working with one student who has been identified as needing a little extra boost to get over the test."
