The Registrar and Master of the High Court, Godfrey Nthomiwa, said yesterday that a P100,000 donation from De Beers Mining Company cannot compromise the Botswana judiciary. He said there is no way the donation to the High Court could have an influence on the decisions of judges and magistrates. "We assure you that the judiciary comprises men and women who are independent from any outside influence," he said.

Nthomiwa added that the donation is going to be used to buy books for libraries for the two High Courts in Lobatse and Francistown and 17 Magistrates' Courts. "We can't compromise …
