Sep. 15--Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman makes an unabashed appeal to Republicans and unaffiliated voters in a new television commercial that presents the loser of the Democratic primary as above partisanship. What was a liability in the primary is now embraced as a virtue by Lieberman, who is seeking re-election to Congress as a petitioning candidate on his own party line after losing the Democratic nomination to Ned Lamont.
