THIS BOOK is a tribute to the memory of the distinguished psychologist Daniel Berlyne, a founder member of the Association for Empirical Aesthetics. It consists of twenty chapters by a group of authors from diverse disciplines and locations. The book opens with an introductory chapter, by the editors, in which they efficiently summarize the aims of each of the following chapters. This is followed by a tribute to Berlyne. The rest of the book falls into three sections.
