Mitsubishi VS-4571 "Tabletop" Rear-Projection TV. (Evaluation)
MITSUBISHI IS THE FIRST company to offer a 45-inch tabletop rear projection TV. The new model, designated VS-4571, weighs only 130 pounds and takes up the same shelf space as a 27-inch direct-view set. Ironically, the set is only 21 inches deep, which is about 30% less slimmer than conventional direct-view models.
The VS-4571 offers a compact design through a new shortened focal length lens, short-length CRT, and a new electron gun. The unit features a front surface mirror, an anti-blooming electron gun, a 6element high-speed multi-coated lens system, a Black Tint Thin Fresnel Screen (that improves brightness and contrast), and a comb filter.
