INTRODUCTION

Produced by Thirteen/WNET and Wall to Wall Television, TEXAS RANCH HOUSE follows in the path of COLONIAL HOUSE and provides a stimulating look at life in the United States in the 1860s. The eight-part series shows life in Texas from a variety of perspectives and includes an interactive website and additional resources for teachers and students to explore.

THE SERIES

The eight episodes of TEXAS RANCH HOUSE bring modern day individuals face-to-face with the realities of ranch living, manual labor and all the domestic and other tasks necessary to daily work and survival. The episodes center on a family, the Cookes, and bring to life the positive points and tensions they encounter among themselves and others living in the local area. The eight episodes are:
