Sep. 11--THE ISSUE: Charlotte-Mecklenburg school officials want input from parents about where to draw lines for new attendance zones.
It's the public's turn to speak beginning this week on proposed attendance zones that will affect thousands of Charlotte-Mecklenburg students in southern and western Mecklenburg County beginning in 2007.
--On Thursday, the first of two community meetings will be held on proposals showing which neighborhoods would go to three new elementary schools opening in the south in 2007 and 2009.
