Sep. 10--BERKELEY -- Edison High graduate Lavelle Hawkins said he felt unusually calm on the bus ride to Memorial Stadium on Saturday. "I just said to myself, 'Lavelle, go out there and have some fun,' "the Bears' junior wide receiver said. "I felt really relaxed. I was thinking something was wrong with me." Nothing proved to be wrong with Hawkins or his teammates, as No. 23 Cal put its humbling loss at Tennessee behind and drubbed Minnesota 42-17 in its home opener in front of 55,035 fans.
