Kampala City Council (KCC) Town Clerk James Sseggane has been interdicted over the mismanagement and misappropriation of about sh1.8b.

He has been directed to hand over office to his deputy, Muwonge Kewaza.

The interdiction took effect yesterday, according to a two-page letter dated September 4 that was seen by The New Vision.

The letter stated, "Preliminary investigations by Police over allegations of mismanagement of public funds by some staff of KCC have revealed that about sh1.8b has been embezzled.
