Khost, 6 September: Two government officials were killed in a suicide attack in Yaqubi District in southeastern Khost Province on Wednesday afternoon, initial reports say.

Mirza Gol, the chief of Yaqubi District, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the headmaster of a school in Yaqubi and a statistical officer of Zazai Maidan District were killed when a suicide bomber, who had attached explosives on his body, jumped over the cab carrying the two officials. The deceased are named as Mahmud Khan and Gol Muhammad.
